Recyclebank - Got a solution for me?

Let me take a second to tell you guys about "Recyclebank". They get the award for being the best all around program I have ever seen to help out with this non-recycling people epidemic! As you all probably know, this blog focuses a lot on doing our part to make the earth more green. As well as talks about sustainability, organics and upcycling. I'm not perfect by any means, nor do I expect you to be. But I do know that I have even tried to talk my neighbors (ahem* and my town more importantly) into it, with little success. What sucks (excuse my language, but no other word will suffice) about being here is when we lived in Groton, Connecticut I actually got introduced to Recyclebank. 

It's a neat idea.. more like coolest thing since sliced bread! It makes recycling easy for the resident. You get a blue large trash can, to place beside your regular trash can. There's no seprating required and it's even picked up on the same day as your regular trash pickup. You just put anything that they tell you can be recycled into that can. That's right! No separating glass, plastics, and bottles. Even more incentive besides having a healthy earth for our children's kids? They pay you to do it in forms of printable coupons, online coupons, and mailed coupons as well as gift cards. 

Once I remember gathering up phone books in navy housing people threw out or were placed on doorsteps of navy houses that were empty.. I put them all in my bin. Ooohhh weee! I got so many points for that. See, they weigh your can as they pick it up and points are deposited into your online account, which you then login and spend accordingly. Even better? Even though I no longer live there- I still get points for participating in their learn and earn activities. 

I have tried to call my city and talk to them about recycling. They do not even offer any curbside.. much less Recyclebank. But to no avail. They said the town hall meeting voted against it. Maybe I should go to one and present an argument. But I am not really the best debater. Maybe I should leave that to my mega intelligent friend Beth Wood. I bet she could convince a rock it was a fossil. In any case. I have lived here for two years and am highly disppointed in this community for not stepping up to the plate. If anyone has any suggestions on how to help this situation out, I am open to them.

PS! If just 25% of homes used a hybrid water heater, that would be like taking 360,000 cars off the road, as they cut your homes energy useage by 62%! WOW! Also, bet you didn't know that a hot water heater is the 2nd biggest energy monster in your home. (Only second to the HVAC!) It would also save you upwards of 320$ a year! You would also get a federal tax credit if installed by the end of the year! Something to chew on! PLUS.. G.E. is offering a 200$ mail in rebate from now until the end of Nov 2011. Jump on it! Peanut Butter & Co. Review!

Yum yum! Nom Nom! OK, I will just admit it. I have never heard of this peanut butter before. But I can't keep my little spoon out of this jar! I am a sucker for chocolate and I have a real sweet tooth. Each jar have suggested uses for that flavor printed on the label! The texture is very neat because it's not quite creamy, but not quite crunchy. Warning! This stuff is highly addictive! 

Giana and Devonny most like the White Chocolate peanut butter, and I have about polished off the Dark Chocolate. It's funny, because when it arrived in my mailbox, I posted a picture to my Facebook mobile uploads, of it and immediately got several comments about it! My friends already knew of (and tried ) it. Some friends, they didn't even tell me!


Well, no worries kids! I am telling you so you know! Poor Noah, since he's not here! He is a peanut butter monster. I can't even keep it in the house when he's home. It wouldn't have lasted five minutes with him around. He eats out the jars with the BIG spoon!


What, so I live under a rock or something? How did I not know?  Even more shocked was I to discover this brand makes a cinnamon raisin plus a honey, a maple, a spicy, portables..
Not just limited to peanut butter spreads alone, and not to be outdone by it's competitor, "Jelly" they also sell jelly as well!
In addition to, shirts, gifts and other snacks, baking mixes, and other merchandise. I hope I didn't leave anything out!  What am I going to do when I run out? Possibly cry, and when I get over it, I will probably buy some more! At only 6$ a jar it's an affordable healthy indulgent treat! (Buy 12 for $5.10 each )


I am very glad I picked the flavors I did, because I know they would be the ones we would enjoy most! Which flavors do you think you would like?

First lets touch on why their product is awesome, and what I wish I had been sent!


This product is awesome beacuse of many things, one I appreciated most was that Sibu Beauty products are 100% natural. They contain no dairy, wheat, gluten, sodium, yeast or preservatives They are also are free of any and all preservatives. They are also Paraben-FREE and Cruelty-FREE and support sustainability & fair trade! 


I love that they have these supplements. I love supplements and vitamins as most of you know! I spent hours reading about theirs and now I really want them! :) I think that would've been a much better product for me, personally to review. If only I had been asked. 

Lets talk about what I liked and the one thing I didn't.
When a company sends me a free product I really dislike having to say I didn't care for it. I am obligated to say my opinion. As much as I do not want to, that is the point of a review blog. To state your honest-to-blog opinion. But keep in mind, everyone's opinion is not always the same. I might like tomatoes and you might dislike them. Plus, it's not that I don't like it per se`. I love the soap, I just do not appreciate the look and the scent. It smells very citrus pine-y in my opinion. It left my skin feeling slightly dry, which actually- turned out to be a good thing. However as strange smelling/looking as it is, it seems like it really helped clear up some of my pimples I get on my shoulders and back and chest. So I will most definitely continue to use it. The bar is slightly brown/orange/clear with little specks of the sea buckthorn in it. I don't much care for the scent like I said. It is very pine woodsy smelliness with after notes of lemon. 




What I really liked, and also seems to be making a great deal of difference to my facial skin redness, oiliness, and blackheads and pimples is this facial serum they sent. I really like it. I have used it everyday, and I even use it before I put my makeup on, and as a primer for my powder, instead of liquid foundation. It seems to be clearing me up a lot! As I round up to almost 30.. (SHHH!) I have found that I need to start being more proactive about my skin heath. Aging, kids and military life is taking it's toll on my skins over all glow and health. I like that this product seems to be helping out.

I was lucky enough to receive Cureology, but since it is not available forpurchase until November I was not lucky enough to receive a full size sample. Which absolutely is terrible since I love the product so so much!

I was sent "Courage" which I have good and bad things to say about.

Anyone who's read my reviews on hair care know that to me, conditioner is everything. 

I have wavy oily/dry (how is that even possible?) hair! Conditioner that is extremely moisturizing is essential to my hair. Lets the get the bad part out of the way right now, like a band aid and get it over with.

 I did not like this conditioner. It was not moisturizing, it seemed more like a body lotion than conditioner. To boot, it didn't even smell as good as the Shampoo; though it did smell similar.

Now for the good part!

I loved the Shampoo. It is rare for me to find a shampoo I love. In my experiences they are all pretty much equals. Not this one! It smells so good, I can't even put into words how amazing it smells. It is so strongly perfume scented, very floral and sweet and familiar.

I loved it! It's washing capabilities were equal to any other shampoo I have used. It wasn't too drying, or too moisturizing, and it did clean my hair. But it left my hair smelling better than any shampoo has ever done before. I am going to have to buy some now!

Unfortunately this brand is a salon exclusive brand.

That means I can't just run to any store and buy it, nor can I purchase it online. 

Also, since their site doesn't state what salons carry it, I have no idea how to tell you where to find it at!
It is available for purchase in November so I have heard, so perhaps I can edit this out if it is available and I have more information for you later.

Anti-Aging haircare

Mac V oil sent me a full sized aerosol Ultra Hold Hairspray

 and a small thing of argon oil and a container of their styling creme! I don't use molding cremes that come in canister's because they are too sticky. I can't make them work in my hair, and I just do not like them in general. I did try to use it, but couldn't get it to work for me. *sad face* I think this product is more for people with short spiky hair that want to texture it, it won't work on my extremely long hair.   

Macvoil Molding Creme

I have tried many argon oil's in the past and this is the best one I have tried as of yet! I love that it makes me shiny, without being greasy and the best part was it only took one drop! The little bottle they sent is around 2 inches so at one drop a day 

(I just put it on the tips of my hair.) it will literally last me forever.

I liked the hairspray cause it smelled amazing. I am a sucker for strongly and sweetly scented ahir products. It didn't leave flakes in my hair the way some hairsprays do- and it also had a lot of hold without being stiff. It is heat activated, although when I blow dry my hair, I do not use hairspray, so I didn't evaluate this claim.  I usually do not go for aerosol hairsprays because sometimes they will not spray I am not sure how this happens, But there will be numerous uses left in the container, with no way to get them out. Like they get de-pressurized or something. Hopefully this won't happen to this as I like it very much!


 I mostly appreciated the use of Omega 3 Oils in their products, I couldn't find a link to the argon oil, but I have included a 1.800 number and a product number and name if you would like to order it!
