Woman found carrying brainless foetus

A Chilean woman, who is 36 weeks pregnant, has been found to carry a foetus which has no brain. After learning about her baby's condition, Claudia Pizarro, who also suffers from cancer of the uterus, has appealed to a court to let her undergo a therapeutic abortion.

Pizarro presented an appeal for protection of her constitutional rights on grounds that her foetus, which in any case will not be able to live outside the womb, keeps her from having her illness treated.

"I'm not asking that they kill my child. My daughter will die at birth. I'm pleading for my life so I can seek treatment as soon as possible," the woman said.

Pizarro has an 11-year-old son. If the court accepts the appeal, Claudia intends to donate the baby's organs "to help other children who do have a chance to live", she said.

Chile is one of the few countries in the world that ban therapeutic abortion, but two bills are now before parliament seeking to decriminalise the procedure. Link emirates247.com

The World's Smallest Solar Powered Movie Theater

Sol Cinema is the smallest solar powered cinema in the world. It works on solar energy and only 8 adults can fit inside it. Movies are shown on a LED projector.
The UK-based Sol Cinema is 100% powered by the Sun. They say:

"The U.K. isn't famous for sunny days, yet we still manage to run our entire cinema, including video projectors, sound systems, laptops, hard drives and lights from the energy of the sun via solar panels. This means we have no utility bill each year and can perform anywhere at anytime."

The film projector they use is powered by four large lithium-ion batteries that are charged by two 120W solar panels. Sol Cinema refrains from showing anything that glorifies violence or is "too mainstream". They tell customers to think more "Michael Moore rather than Demi Moore".

Amazing Russian Wooden Gadgets

These days when people going to be more green such devices gain popularity. Russian author of wooden mice writes: “Wood, as the cover material for everyday appliances is almost not used nowadays. Plastics are cheaper, easier to produce, faster – they suit well for mass production. Real wood is still can be found from exclusive furniture producers (regular furniture is made from plywood or laminated sheets). Saw wood industry is also mainly oriented for the construction works, thus the wooden material is available on market is of worse quality. Technologies of producing beautiful things from wood suffered greatly. They are almost, not almost, just forgotten. Just some time ago people could make from wood the things that look like a miracle for a modern person. For example those Russian wooden clocks of the 19th century.

Australian Man Marries His Dog

Joseph Guiso has surprised his family and friends when he decided to tie the knot with his best friend, a 5-year-old labrador retriever.

The young Australian, from Toowoomba, describes himself as a “religious guy” and says he could no longer stand to live with his four-legged mate outside of wedlock. The couple decided to go through with the wedding while they were walking by one of the city parks. Joe saw another couple getting married and told his lab Honey “that could be us”. Since she didn’t say anything, her owner took it as a “yes” so he made arrangements to have their own wedding right there in Laurel Bank Park.

Thirty of the couple’s 30 friends were present at the emotional event, and of them even played the role of priest. After reading his touching vow (“You’re my best friend and you make every part of my day better”), Joseph Guiso sealed the deal with a kiss right on Honey’s wet snout. Now that’s puppy love for ya!

Guiso also assured onlookers that “it’s not sexual. It’s just pure love.”

After a German dude married his pet cat, a few months ago, something like this was to be expected.via The Chronicle

Funny X-ray Pictures Of Skeletons

Obviously, these x-ray pictures are not the one which supposed to see in hospital. Nick Veasey uses x-ray technology to create mesmerizing and intriguing art. However, instead of saying these are x-ray pictures, it is more proper to say that these are skeletons doing mundane things.

Well, it looks funny though. Jump to see more x-ray pictures or funny pictures of skeletons.

what a tangled web we weave

i found this article in trying to assess what to do about my child being taught all year the things she already knows in kindergarten. in googling, we came upon this article

http://www.thelaboroflove.com/articles/our-child-is-too-advanced-for-kindergarten-what-can-we-do/

i have to say, i whole heartedly disagree w most everything that is said here!
the problem is yes socially she does need kindergarten, HOWEVER should she really do 26 days straight of learning a says ahh and b says ba and c says ka ... etc.. i mean, this is going to lead her to be unchallenged, bored and possibly labeled as a problem child or troublemaker- see, the school seems to be worried about only their "rules" they say, mrs byrd, we cannot test her until she has been enrolled for 20 consecutive SCHOOL DAYS, which equals to us 1 month later. y the rush. u might wonder, when she is going to be in school ALL year? well, i think they should do IMMEDIATE evaluations, per child, as to not waste anytime. they think the best a kindergartner SHOULD do, is see sally run, run sally run, when my child could probably read this whole blog to you.

iove even read some sites online that say, oh, do you really want your kid to be 15 when every1 else is 16 and driving and dating. ... ??? yea, bc one year is such a big deal?

http://www.thelaboroflove.com/articles/skipping-kindergarten-straight-to-first-grade/

this article (from the same website) is also incredibly biased and only looks at one side of issue. and even says, if they are smarter in k- they will b smarter later on as well, this is not true if you are not nurturing it, and wasting a whole year teaching what is already known to the child..... you have to encourage a child to be smarter not lazier!!!! excuse my capitalization please, i am in a rush to go to bed early to get my kindergartener off to school tomorrow to be treated like a dunce (yet again)..
g'nite!

Sex is Like Riding A Bike

Sex is like riding a bike, do you know why? read this:

1. You have to keep pumping if you want to get anywhere.
2. It’s best to wear protective head-gear when going into unfamiliar territory.
3. You can do it with no hands, but it’s best not to try it until you have a lot of experience.
4. It’s easier to learn with the help of someone who has a lot of experience.
5. You can do it by yourself, but it’s usually not as much fun.
6. It’s usually hard to control your speed the first few times you try.
7. It’s best to have a soft place to land.

8. You don’t need any special clothing, but you can get some if you are really into it.
9. If you’re with someone who is having trouble keeping up, it’s usually best to slow down and wait for them.
10. Most people think it looks easy until they try it for the first time.
11. Once you learn, you never forget how.
12. If you fall off get right back on.
13. If you get a flat, try pumping it back up.
14. Remember to signal before you change direction.
15. Make sure that you’ve got a firm grip.
16. Sometimes it’s nice to have a cushy seat.
17. Once you’re over the top, you can just coast the rest of the way.
18. That’s why some of them are called Mountin’ Bikes.

CONTACT ME

If you would like us to review your product or conduct a giveaway with us, please e-mail davisc9333 (at) yahoo (dot) com.  OR use the form below. Thanks!
Many times we also share products we love with our readers. They are truly items we come across that we like, and want others to know about. We will make the distinction between items we find and product reviews.

Welcome to Locomotion of Expressions!  I like to help my readers find new interesting products that may help make their lives easier.  My readers values my reviews as a way to gauge how a product, book or service will help them in their own daily lives.

I also am open to doing giveaways along with the reviews. Giveaways are a great way to create buzz about the product, book or service that you are trying to get word out about. They also allow me to reward my readers. Giveaways provide a win-win relationship that is beneficial to both me, to my readers, and to the company who manufactures the product. I do a lot of work when it comes to hosting giveaways so if I do not also receive a product in return I would like to be compensated. I spend quality time on each the giveaway post, promoting the giveaway and ending it. Sometimes it can take me up to 3 weeks to evaluate and get around to a post. Sometimes I have a very full review calendar and sometimes a very empty one. Reviews have been posted in as little as 3 days of receipt. Please understand however that a few things need to be clear at the get-go. if I have directed you to this post after an initial contact it is because you have not provided me with enough info.

Information I will need:
Links and anchor text?
How long you prefer the giveaway to run? If no preference, please state so.
Countries winning prize will be shipped to?
Entry methods preferred.. IE: facebook likes.. questions.. twitter follows.. etc. ?
Winning prize arv value (shipping costs also considered with this number)?
Will there be any obligation of shipping costs for the entrants?
Please let me know if you want info to be strictly provided by you, like a press release - or my opinions only.
Please direct me if you want an interview with the review as well.. what questions or form you want the interview to shape.
Please know I am not a mind reader. The terms of the review need to be laid out before shipment please.

PS -

Also please promote it via your company facebook wall. I've found there are more click throughs from Facebook when the company posts, it shows up in fans news feed, vs when I post to your facebook, one will only see it if they go to your page and scroll. Even still most companies facebook have their walls default settings to show only their posts to visitors, unless visitors click "most recent", they wouldnt even notice the link I post. Perhaps you already know this, just thought I'd share just in case

*******************************************************
Reviewing and Sponsoring Giveaways Guidelines:  I love to review various products that are in the market. I will provide my honest opinion when trying out a product, so samples provided are non-returnable. I feel this is the only way to give a full and honest review to our readers. When sponsoring a giveaway, I do require that my sponsor ship directly to the winners.

There are some fees associated with Reviews and Giveaways:
  • Reviews and Giveaways -requires a full size non-returnable item for review

  • Review only -requires a full size non-returnable item for review

  • Giveaway only -contact us for details

  • Promotional post - contact us for details.

  • Featured Post- contact us for details

Before I post the review I must have time to test out the product before I review to make sure that I feel comfortable sharing the product with my readers. If for some reason I receive a product and truly feel that it is not something that would be beneficial to my readers, I will share that opinion with them, constructively, and point out that it is only my opinion, its weak spots, and it's strong points..
I will also be looking for your response to the post. I will email you a link- and I will need you to reply back as soon as you get the link, that all the links, anchor text and information is correct.  (I am only human) I need to know you saw it as well... More importantly than that though, is a response that the winner (in the case of a giveaway) information was received. Also an email that it was shipped.. when it is..
In addition - it is helpful for the sponsor (you) to post a link to the post on your social networks. I usually do, but sometimes don't have time and/or might forget. Even when I am the poster though, it won't show up on your fans' news feed unless you post it there. They only see mine, if they happen to visit your page (and they might not.)

*******************************************************
Advertising: We are always open to accepting paid advertising on our blog such as banners, 125×125 buttons,  and Text Links. Don’t see your ad size, feel free to contact us for more information and a quote.
*******************************************************

If you think that you have a product, book, or service that would be enjoyable to me and to the people who read Locomotion of Expressions, please do not hesitate to contact me via the email listed above. For your convenience you can also use the contact form above.

PLEASE NOTE: Providing a product for review does not automatically guarantee that your product will be published on Locomotion of Expressions. As a general rule of thumb, and I hate to say this- but blogging is extremely time consuming:
(Please do not mail me something of extremely low value... I had a company who makes bows- send me one bow.. this might not offend other bloggers.. but it did bother me)
Also- this is not written in stone, But the more expensive the item is.. the more words are in the post. A 150-250 word post is equivalent to a 10$ arv review. Giveaway terms/instructions are not counted; only the review paragraph.
20-40$ arv = 400 words
50-60$ arv = 450 words
70-80$ arv = 500 words
80-90$ arv = 550 words
90-100$ arv =  600 words
100-200$ arv = 650 words
200-400$ arv = 700 words
400-600$ arv = 750 words
600 -800$ arv = 800 words
$800-$1000+ arv = 900+ words. (This post has 920 words, to give you a roundabout idea of length.)
This is not always the case, but more of an average of what to expect.
Usually it will go over.... Sometimes if I am really excited about a great product, I will go on and on. You never can tell.

What tips, tricks or strategies do you suggest to make sure kids to embrace summer reading?

My lil girl is only five. Yet reads on a 3rd grade level. I taught her how to read! We started off w Flash Cards w ABC's on them. and then we moved up to tracing letters. Then, we moved on to a set of 5 dvds by leapfrog, phonics, learn to read at the letter factory, etc, etc. the songs and bright colors are so captivating to at toddler than she became immersed in the movies and would watch them up to 4 or 5x a day! It was long at all before she4 was reading her board book, and w positive reinforcement and encouragement from me, moved on to much bigger and better books, she doesn't yet read chapter books, and hasnt started kindergarten yet, but will be in a few months, but for a child who has never even been in daycare, I'm so proud of her! (...and me too!)

Strangest Eyelash Extensions

Artist Jessica Harrison takes dead flies legs and attaches them onto the eye for what she aptly called ‘flylashes.' The inventive looking false eyelashes are sort of on the grosser side of beauty. The crooked and bent lashes are glued onto the eye and are meant to look like luscious eyelashes.

The adventure of a lifetime begins…
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Thomas Balmès, from an original idea by producer Alain Chabat, Babies simultaneously follows four babies around the world – from birth to first steps. Re-defining the nonfiction art form, Babies joyfully captures on film the earliest stages of the journey of humanity that are at once unique and universal to us all.

Ponijao lives in Namibia with her family, including her parents and eight older brothers and sisters. Ponijao’s family is part of the Himba tribe, and lives in a small village with other families, following traditions including speaking their own (Himba) language. The men in the Himba tribe are generally off looking after the cattle and searching for grass, so Ponijao is most often with her mother and other female relatives; she plays, eats, and is bathed through the traditional method of mixing concrete red ochre with oil. Ponijao’s favorite things to do are dance and play with other children in the tribe.
