Garfield Show: Spooky Tails
| What we thought: What did Giana think? She watched it over and over. She loves Halloween movies.. for any time of year. She was excited to add this to her collection. The animation looks better than previously, more 3d, if you will. The best episode to me, was "The Robot", but Giana thought the episode: "Time Master' was good. Noah loves cartoons, so of course he watched it too! We even had Devonny watching it. Little as she is, she loves the T.V. and cartoons. It was good to sit down and watch a family friendly movie together. |
About Garfield.
"Garfield is a comic strip created by Jim Davis. Published since June 19, 1978, it chronicles the life of the title character, the cat Garfield; his owner, Jon Arbuckle; and Arbuckle's dog, Odie. As of 2007, it was syndicated in roughly 2,580 newspapers and journals, and held the Guinness World Record for being the world's most widely syndicated comic strip
Common themes in the strip include Garfield's laziness, obsessive eating, and hatred of Mondays and diets. The strip's focus is mostly on the interactions among Garfield, Jon, and Odie; recurring minor characters appear as well. Originally created with the intentions to "come up with a good, marketable character," Garfield has spawned merchandise earning $750 million to $1 billion annually!" Source: Wikipedia
Besides just merchandise Garfield has spawned spin-offs like: Garfield and Friends, which I used to watch and re-runs sometimes. I am unsure as to what channels. Of note, there has also been CGI animated movies which have meshed Garfield in with Actual People. It is supposed to be realistic looking, and it's more realistic than cartoons. I can see the appeal to children. We actually own the first Garfield movie, its CGI. It's OK. Gigi likes it a lot. I think there is 2 of these, or another one coming out soon.I have always liked Garfield, and found his lazy ways especially amusing as a child. I would always read the funnies, and week by week, it was always the same thing. Garfield being fat & lazy.. picking on poor little sweet Odie, eating lasagna and anything else every time Jon turns his back... And Jon yelling "GARRRFFIEELLD!!" That was the comics anyway. The movies & cartoons have a little more than that.
You know, come to think of it, my Mom's cats are the exact same way. Heck- they even look like Garfield. She's got about 10 of them. No I'm just kidding. There is Fluffy- the big creme colored one. AJ, with the white chest... her baby. Babydoll the old lady, who is tiny and solid orange. Calliou which is the black cat who won't let people touch or come near him. Sweetie, is another solid orange cat, only really fluffy. He likes to lay on my mother's chest and purr and knead and suck on a blanket like he is nursing her. I'm dead serious! Weird, huh? I might forgetting one. They are hard to keep up with. A.J especially looks like Garfield cuz hes fat.. Well, sans the white tipped toes & chest anyway. My moms favorite cat is named A.J. short for Angel Junior after his daddy, Angel Face - who passed away. My mom has a tattoo of the original Angel Face on her shirt. A.J. is very vocal. He likes to fetch bottle caps off of sodas, and he will walk around the house with his stuffed toys and cry and meow mournfully if my mother locks him out of her room. Which she does every night. Needless to say sleeping over
there can be a challenge. I just wake up and yell at him and toss couch pillows at him. (LOL!) AJ is always on the kitchen table. He sure will jump right up on the counter and eat her lasagna or anything else. Heck, he even will eat gummies. Strange bird, that cat! Here's some pictures of them,. Because I know she'll like that. What more relevant topic to talk about mom's wild crazy cat's anyway?
I like telling you guys tidbits about me and my life. Here's a pic of A.J. and mom and her other cats.
