What we thought of them!~
I love these things! They are so much more high-quality than other fruit in ches. They require no refrigeration, so they are another perfect toss & go for today's busy mommy-on-the-go! I love that they sell them at Starbucks also. I love me some coffee! Giana is always begging for me to buy her something there when we go.
I honestly think (JMO *just my opinion*) these are like baby food. But a more stylish baby food that adults can enjoy. Apple sauce is an adult baby food too, just what I have always thought, but it doesn't stop me from eating it! The reason I say this is because they are pureed food, without any additives. The ingredient list on the back of these pouches is shocking. Its how food SHOULD be. No additives, no fats, no sugars, simply completely organic fruits & veggies.
I like that its similar to baby food because every since Devonny was 6 months old, she quit letting me feed her by spoon. I have tried ((Strong emphasis on tried there!)) to let that baby feed herself, but she can't do it, and I can't tolerate the mess she leaves behind of her attempts, so we have long since moved past baby food. This is wonderful because it can supplement her diet. She is very picky. This gets a little more fruit & veggies in her! I like that so much! I also like she can hold is herself. If you ever try to feed her.... Even a bite (by hand)... she will stop eating and refuse to continue. No matter how hungry she is. She has always been like that. Its very silly, but what can I do? These help with that issue tremendously.
I also like the varieties they come in. The kids really seem to like it. Most shocking is Giana's love for the Pea, Spinach, Apple. But, then again, she's the only 6 year old I know that drinks V8. Naturally, if any kid would like, it would be GiGi!
The flavors:
The only flavor I did not receive was Peach & Apple
As soon as I opened this very pretty (see below!) box of snacks, Giana grabbed the Strawberry & Banana one and started opening it before I could even protest. Luckily, I had my camera nearby from taking the pics of the box, because she gobbled it down in mere seconds!
Later, I fed Devonny one called Mango Banana & Orange she gobbled it down quickly too!
For breakfast the next day I fed Devonny Apple & Grape, and Giana had Pea, Spinach, Apple - Hey! it doesn't sound like breakfast food to me either, but iuts what she wanted. Besides, it has apples in it!
The only one I personally tasted (and was also fed to Devonny) was Carrot, Squash & Apple, you gotta admit, these sound like taste bud adventures, and they are! I thought it was better than what I expected. It was basically like an applesauce. Who doesn't like applesauce?
Lastly Sweet Potato Corn & Apple was taken to the grocery store with us. Devonny hates being confined in a cart, and the only way to shop pleasantly is to hand her food. Thank goodness she didn't drop it. I usually hand her bread or bagels, but I cringe and take them away when she rubs them on the buggy (or she drops them!).
Verdict?
Overall I give these pouches an A+
