Belly Candy from Body Candy (review)

Hey there readers and friends. Mostly I love blogging and bringing to you companies that deserve to get their name out about their prices and wonderful products. I am actually a frequent customer of BodyCandy.com and can tell you first hand how wonderful they are! Home of the world's largest body jewelry store!

I got my navel pierced the first time when I was 18. I take it out when I am pregnant, but they actually have body jewelry designed for the pregnant woman! Pregnancy Ring so she doesn't have the issue I had with it growing/closing up. In some cases, it can stretch and rip and tear and *gasps* scar even!
My belly button is so messed up I have considered surgery for it. You cant tell in the picture, because I do not want you to be able to tell. See, I had an inguinal hernia
when I was a teenager and had laparoscopic surgery to correct it. Now I need cosmetic surgery to fix the damage they wrecked on my navel. It is super shallow now and they must have cut too close to it, because they closed it up in essence. The way it hangs is no longer up and down, but actually kind of inwards. Its rather hard to explain.

But I am off track, as usual.

I have very sensitive skin, and cannot wear their super cheap jewelry anymore, which really saddens me, because I own about 30 belly rings. I will not buy them from anyone else. You get ripped off. If you buy them at places, they try to charge you way too much! Not BodyCandy.com! Their rings are super affordable belly rings!  Some even $1.99 body jewelry.

Even the one pictured that was set complimentary to me, was only:  Retail price: $135.99

Your Price: $54.99

This belly ring is Solid 14k White Gold Vitrail Heart Belly Ring MADE WITH SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS!
Live and love with this beautiful  SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS heart belly ring designed with a solid gold barbell. Artisan crafted gold belly ring.

Specifications: 14 Gauge (1.6mm), 7/16? (11mm), Solid 14k Gold, MADE WITH SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, Handmade in the USA

Spend 19.99 and you get  free shipping. Did you know that is how much you would pay for ONE belly button ring at some places?
Some charge even more than that! My favorite jewelry from the site can be found in the licensed body jewelry area. those are too stinking cute and sexy too!
Perfect for the Halloween Season only $2.99!

My opinion. The belly ring is gorgeous. It looks even better in person, and I think it's a steal. There has been no reaction as there normally is, and I have even gotten compliments on it, which is always a plus. :)  My daughter loves it, and my baby tries to play with it. As for how durable it is, only time will tell. Will the color come off of the charm? I do not know & I hope not. It doesn't look like a 100$ belly ring. Or even a fifty dollar belly ring... But I love it, and that is all that matters.
Selection of thousands of items.

Special thanks to BodyCandy for sending it, and hopefully we can work together again in the future.. perhaps a giveaway next time for a gift certificate to their store. Who knows? Body Candy doesn't want me to tell you they sent me a high value item, or that it was complimentary, but that is immoral and illegal and I'm not getting fined.
They also want me to clearly state that they are not participating in a giveaway. So be clear about that. perhaps one day I will buy a gift certificate and give it away to you guys. Who knows?
If you are not a subscriber, do sign up for their email list, as I get occasional coupon codes and they are always good ones, of high value too!

Recyclebank - Got a solution for me?

Let me take a second to tell you guys about "Recyclebank". They get the award for being the best all around program I have ever seen to help out with this non-recycling people epidemic! As you all probably know, this blog focuses a lot on doing our part to make the earth more green. As well as talks about sustainabilityorganics and upcycling. I'm not perfect by any means, nor do I expect you to be. But I do know that I have even tried to talk my neighbors (ahem* and my town more importantly) into it, with little success. What sucks (excuse my language, but no other word will suffice) about being here is when we lived in Groton, Connecticut I actually got introduced to Recyclebank

It's a neat idea.. more like coolest thing since sliced bread! It makes recycling easy for the resident. You get a blue large trash can, to place beside your regular trash can. There's no seprating required and it's even picked up on the same day as your regular trash pickup. You just put anything that they tell you can be recycled into that can. That's right! No separating glass, plastics, and bottles. Even more incentive besides having a healthy earth for our children's kids? They pay you to do it in forms of printable coupons, online coupons, and mailed coupons as well as gift cards.

Once I remember gathering up phone books in navy housing people threw out or were placed on doorsteps of navy houses that were empty.. I put them all in my bin. Ooohhh weee! I got so many points for that. See, they weigh your can as they pick it up and points are deposited into your online account, which you then login and spend accordingly. Even better? Even though I no longer live there- I still get points for participating in their learn and earn activities.

I have tried to call my city and talk to them about recycling. They do not even offer any curbside.. much less Recyclebank. But to no avail. They said the town hall meeting voted against it. Maybe I should go to one and present an argument. But I am not really the best debater. Maybe I should leave that to my mega intelligent friend Beth Wood. I bet she could convince a rock it was a fossil. In any case. I have lived here for two years and am highly disppointed in this community for not stepping up to the plate. If anyone has any suggestions on how to help this situation out, I am open to them.
Thanks!~
Casey Colette

PS! If just 25% of homes used a hybrid water heater, that would be like taking 360,000 cars off the road, as they cut your homes energy useage by 62%! WOW! Also, bet you didn't know that a hot water heater is the 2nd biggest energy monster in your home. (Only second to the HVAC!) It would also save you upwards of 320$ a year! You would also get a federal tax credit if installed by the end of the year! Something to chew on! PLUS.. G.E. is offering a 200$ mail in rebate from now until the end of Nov 2011. Jump on it! (The mail in rebate is printable on Recyclebank available from Sears and Lowes!)

The neat stuff I ordered cost right around 50$!

Sock Monkey Taking Bath framed tile $14
Sock Monkey Robot Cocktail Party Magnet $5

Yellow Submarine Sock Monkey Decal $4.00

Submariners-Deep Bumper Sticker $5.00

My opinion
Well, where to start? How about with the phenomenal selection? Cafe Press has 250+ products that have billions of images and designers using them. That can be a teeny bit overwhelming. For instance my search for sock monkey pulled up so many listings, I didn't have time to browse them all!

Showing: 1 – 28 of 1,560 Sock monkey Gifts designs available on 38,800 products

I was really pleased with most of my stuff. Except the Sock Monkey Submarine decal, the print on it was  sub par.. very blurry and foggy and not "crisp". I also had the same issue with my panty.
However- my favorite item that shipped was the sock monkey framed tile. It looks so cute in my bathroom, and I have had several nice comments about "Where did I get it?" & "It is so cute!".

Five Finger Tees (.com) Review

"Like" FiveFingerTees.com on Facebook to be entered to win automatically a shirt there!

Chicken Pot Pie shirt only 9.99!

Pull Out shirt only 9.99!
What do you guys think of my husband slash mode pictures above? He's a cutie, huh? I really like those shirts. They are SDF! (So Darn Funny) In case you guys don't already know, I am the Queen of sarcasm! It's just one of my many specialties. I am fluent in sarcasm. That's why I like FiveFingerTees.com so much! My husband fortunately shares my sense of humor. I find offensive shirts funny. I get so tired of trying to be polite. It is funny to see people's reaction!

Not only does Five Finger Tees sell funny and offensive shirts, they also sell hoodies, gamers shirts, and cult movie shirts and more. I even found a Rob Zombie Captain Spaulding shirt! Picking two T-Shirts from them was so hard! It took us forever! We finally decided on the Pull Out flash drive shirt, and Chicken Pot Pie shirt.  I have posted pictures of the best of the best below. We almost ordered the "I prefer to be on top" bunk-bed shirt instead. :)

The best thing about this site is all of their shirts are "A freaking Steal@!" at 9.99. Some of the shirts they are overstocked on, and want to make room for more, so you can get one mystery-t-shirt for $4.99 OR 5 mystery tees for $19.99. Since they are all so cute, that is a really good deal.

Another thing I really liked about the site is the shirts are available in numerous colors. So if your man likes.. idk- say the Nintendo Cartridge "Blow Me" shirt, but doesn't necessarily like it in white, he can order it in another color! This site is a great find with holidays right around the corner and the brother/boyfriend/dad/husband (fill-in-the-blank) you have no idea how to shop for! Bonus points? They also have Halloween shirts and you guys know that's my favorite time of year!

So do keep them in mind and also check out the shirts there! It's definitely a good laugh! If you like, find them on their social networks and stay updated for future sales and promotions. If you like them on Facebook you will be entered to win a great prize.. your very own free Five Finger Tee's shirt! Be sure to tell them you found them on Locomotion of Expressions!

Discovery Girls Magazine + collectors edition + Book set ***CLOSED!!!***

Discovery Girls magazine is far from your usual pre-teen magazine. It is very age-appropriate! It is something you would actually want to get your child.. that isn't so well-- stuck up! They talk about way more than fashion and makeup. Not that they don't talk a little about it, but I guess what I mean to say is it is not solely what they talk about. They touch on so much. Very useful stuff your daughter needs to know. What’s appropriate for a 17-year-old is often too mature for a 9-year-old. Growing up can be a confusing time for a young girl. There are so many challenges, some of which include, embarrassing momnets, siblings, parents, school.. and that's not all. I like how the magazine has real girls, and shows them smiling and happy and it is also diverse. One issue, the collectors issue shows a flip back of the most important things they touched on through the 10 years of the publication. I found an article about a little girl who was close to her Nana that passed away and it brought tears to my eyes. My Nana also passed away a few years ago. Even though I am 28 I can relate to the little girls emotions. Giana was only 3 when this happened. But I appreciated the article because it talked about healthy ways of dealing with a tragic issue such as death.  In addition, their bodies are changing and there aren't many magazines geared towards teaching our kids things they might not want to talk to mom and dad about! Discovery Girls is a national magazine aimed at girls between the ages of 8 and 13. Their mission is to inspire and encourage girls to be more confident and resilient and help them deal with those difficult situations that all girls run into growing up. We give them advice and wholesome content addressing everything from peer pressure to fashion, friendship to future careers.
Look inside one of the books for yourself!
Their first issue was published in fall 2000, and as of 2011 Discovery Girls now features two magazines, the original edition titled Discovery Girls for ages 8 and up along with now their new Discovery Girls Middle-School Edition for ages 11 and up. The magazine features 12 girls from each state who are not professional models. Discovery Girls also covers the Provinces and territories of Canada. Discovery Girls' motto is "created by girls, for girls".

Subscribe now! 1 year (6 issues = $19.95 )

Subscription Prices

1 Year (6 issues)

Most importantly, much of our content comes from the girls themselves. Their embarrassing moments, their answered questions and statistics gathered from their responses to our questions, polls and surveys are all featured in every issue. All this content helps connect them to each other and realize they're all going through the same thing in their own unique way. They also feature real girls on the cover and in every issue. We choose 12 girls from a specific state to be our "Discovery Girls" and we then travel to that state to hold a two-day photo shoot! These girls inspire our readers, and we never put celebrities on our covers! The website is also loaded with fun stuff for her to do, like quizzes. The website also features a blog and I was tickled to find a post about a recent trip/photoshoot in Alabama!

They sent me their most recent issue and a 4-book Fab Girls Guide set to review!

What did Giana think?

Well- I usually interview her... but she is at a friends house today.  I can speak for her, when I say; she loved this magazine. Every time I turned around, she was reading it. We keep our magazines in the bathroom, and she is just sitting on the toilet, lid closed with the light on reading it. I'm like; "Baby, you can read it in the living room!" LOL!

What can you get?
If you win:

1 complimentary year subscription to the magazine (a $20 value!)

1 set of the Fab Girls book set ($40)

1 collector's edition, which will encompass 10 years of the best content from our magazine plus more special features ($10)

If  the widget above is not working, keep refreshing the page until it shows up...
I will pick a winner on Saturday, Oct 8th.

Winner will have 48 hours to respond/confirm address or a new winner will be selected!

Now I know I have a lot of readers out there with daughters who would love this prize pack.  And even if you don't have a daughter I am sure you know of some Tween who would love it.
